Trippicker Account Deletion Policy

Effective Date: June 25, 2025

At Trippicker, we are committed to protecting your privacy and giving you control over your personal data. This page explains how you can delete your Trippicker account and the personal data associated with it, in compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023 and Google Play Store policies.

Understanding Your Right to Erasure

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023, you have the "right to erasure" (also known as the "right to be forgotten"). This means you can request the deletion or removal of your personal data where there is no compelling reason for its continued processing. This applies when the data is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, you withdraw your consent (if consent was the legal basis), or the data has been unlawfully processed.

How to Delete Your Trippicker Account and Data

We provide two primary ways to initiate the deletion of your Trippicker account and associated data

1. Delete Your Account Directly In-App (Recommended)

This is the fastest and most straightforward way to begin your account deletion process.

For Riders:

  • Open the Trippicker app.
  • Go to your Profile found at the top of the side menu.
  • Click on Delete Account.
  • Click on Confirm and Delete Account.

For Drivers:

  • Open the Trippicker app.
  • Go to your Profile found at the top of the side menu.
  • Click on Delete Account.
  • Click on Confirm and Delete Account.

2. Request Account Deletion via Web Link

If you are unable to access the app, or prefer to make your request through a web browser, you can use our dedicated web portal:

On this page, you will find a form with instructions on how to submit your account deletion request. You will be asked to verify your phone number.

What Happens When You Delete Your Account?

  • Immediate Deactivation: Your Trippicker account will be immediately deactivated to prevent further use.
  • Data Deletion Process Begins: We will initiate permanent deletion from our active databases.
  • Processing Time: The full process may take up to 30 days. Your account will remain deactivated during this time.
  • Verification: You may need to verify your identity to protect your privacy.

Data Retention Exceptions

While we aim to delete your data fully, we may be required to retain specific information as mandated by law or for platform safety. These may include:

  • Legal & Regulatory Compliance: Data required for tax, transport, or legal authorities.
  • Fraud Prevention & Security: Data retained for detecting fraud or security breaches.
  • Dispute Resolution & Enforcement: Data used to resolve disputes or enforce policies.
  • Aggregated Data: Anonymous, non-identifiable data may be kept for analytics and research.

Such data is stored securely and only for the duration legally necessary. It will never be used for unrelated purposes.

Deletion of Data Shared with Third Parties

Where data was shared with partners (e.g., payment processors, analytics tools), we will notify them of your deletion request where possible. However, each third party may have its own retention policies and legal obligations.
