Trippicker privacy policy

Effective Date: June 25, 2025

This Privacy Policy explains how Trippicker ("Trippicker," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, processes, and shares information about you when you use our mobile applications, websites, and other online products and services (collectively, the "Services").

Trippicker is the world's first Web3 e-hailing Mobility & Lifestyle Super App, offering a comprehensive range of services from rides and logistics to food delivery, hotel bookings, event ticketing, unique social connections, and even opportunities to earn through car-mounted advertisements via "TripAds," all while allowing users to earn Tripper Coin ($TRIP) through their engagement.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data in compliance with applicable data protection laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023 and its General Application and Implementation Directive (GAID) 2025 for data subjects within its territorial scope, and general global best practices for privacy.

Please Note: While this Privacy Policy describes Trippicker's comprehensive range of services and future capabilities, the initial version of our mobile application currently focuses on ride-hailing (cab booking) services and Tripper Coin mining. Additional features will be rolled out in future updates.

1. IMPORTANT INFORMATION AND WHO WE ARE

Trippicker is the data controller responsible for your personal data. This means that Trippicker determines the purposes and means of processing the personal data you provide when using our Services.

Our Data Protection Officer (DPO):

We have appointed a Data Protection Officer who is responsible for overseeing questions in relation to this Privacy Policy. If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, including any requests to exercise your legal rights, please contact our DPO at:

Address: 52, First East Circular Road Benin City

Email: privacy@trippicker.comContact Phone: +2347063598874

2. THE DATA WE COLLECT ABOUT YOU

We may collect, use, store, and transfer different kinds of personal data about you, which we have grouped together as follows:

Identity Data: Includes first name, last name, username or similar identifier, marital status, title, date of birth, gender, photograph, and unique identification numbers relevant to your region (e.g., government-issued IDs as required by local regulations for vetting drivers/partners). Please note, Trippicker does not collect your Bank Verification Number (BVN).

Contact Data: Includes billing address, delivery address, email address, and telephone numbers.

Financial Data:

For users (riders), Trippicker does not collect or store your payment card details or bank account information for ride payments within the app. When a ride booked by a user is nearing completion, the app will display the driver's account information to the user to facilitate direct transfer of the fare. This transfer can be made by the user using their own bank's transfer service or, if they also have the Tripper Cash fintech app, directly via Tripper Cash.

For drivers, your in-app wallet for fiat earnings (from fares) is managed by our fintech partner, Tripper Cash. When you sign up as a driver, you establish an account directly with Tripper Cash, which is then connected to your Trippicker driver wallet. This arrangement allows Trippicker to automatically receive its service percentage from each ride. Tripper Cash provides the account number for your driver wallet, and you can transfer your earnings from Tripper Cash to any bank of your choice at any time. We only receive necessary transaction confirmations and aggregated payout data from Tripper Cash to manage our platform operations and ensure proper commission calculation.

Transaction Data: Includes details about payments to and from you and other details of products and services you have purchased from us (e.g., trip history, booking details for rides, logistics, hotels, restaurants, events, rentals). For drivers, this includes details of fiat earnings and payouts processed via Tripper Cash, as well as earnings from TripAds campaigns.

Tripper Coin Mining Data: Includes details about your in-app activities and usage necessary to calculate your Tripper Coin ($TRIP) rewards, such as trip ID, distance traveled, trip duration, mode of transport, and engagement with certain app features. Trippicker uses this data solely to calculate the mining rewards based on your trip activity and engagement; it does not involve any collection or processing of your financial data for the act of mining itself. The actual collection and withdrawal of earned Tripper Coin occur via a separate Tripper Coin web application, which may involve financial data only at the point of withdrawal.

Technical Data: Includes internet protocol (IP) address, your login data, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform, device identifiers (e.g., Advertising ID), and other technology on the devices you use to access our Services.

Profile Data: Includes your username and password, purchases or orders made by you, your interests, preferences, feedback, and survey responses.

Usage Data: Includes information about how you use our Services (e.g., app features viewed, access dates and times, app crashes, content interacted with). This includes interaction with TripAds features and campaigns.

Location Data: Real-time precise geographical location data when you use our Services. This is crucial for matching drivers and users, navigation, ensuring safety (e.g., SOS feature), calculating Tripper Coin mining rewards, and for tracking ad display duration and reach for TripAds campaigns. We may collect this in the background when the app is in use for active trips or deliveries, or if you have granted permission for continuous location services.

Communication Data: Includes chat logs and call recordings between users and customer support, or between drivers/partners and users facilitated through the app's anonymized communication features.

Marketing and Communications Data: Includes your preferences in receiving marketing from us and our third parties and your communication preferences.

Vehicle Data (for Drivers/Logistics Partners): Includes vehicle make, model, license plate number, vehicle identification number (VIN), inspection information, insurance information, and specific details relevant to vehicle advertising wraps for TripAds (e.g., vehicle color, condition, photos for wrap design).

Driver/Partner Specific Data (for Drivers/Logistics/Service Partners): Includes driving license details, criminal record checks (where permitted by law), driving history, right to work verification, business registration details, and operational licenses (e.g., for logistics companies, hotels, restaurants, clubs, event/movie producers).

Audio/Video Data (for Safety Features): If you choose to activate the in-app audio and/or video recording features during a trip, the recordings will be collected and securely stored by Trippicker as detailed in our Terms and Conditions and for the purposes of safety and dispute resolution.

Aggregated Data: We also collect, use, and share Aggregated Data such as statistical or demographic data for any purpose. Aggregated Data could be derived from your personal data but is not considered personal data in law as this data will not directly or indirectly reveal your identity. For example, we may aggregate your Usage Data to calculate the percentage of users accessing a specific feature. However, if we combine or connect Aggregated Data with your personal data so that it can directly or indirectly identify you, we treat the combined data as personal data which will be used in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

If you fail to provide personal data: Where we need to collect personal data by law, or under the terms of a contract we have with you, and you fail to provide that data when requested, we may not be able to perform the contract we have or are trying to enter into with you (for example, to provide you with transportation services, allow you to operate as a partner, or participate in TripAds campaigns). When you request account deletion, we will:

  • Immediately deactivate your account to prevent further use.
  • Initiate the process of permanently deleting your personal data associated with the account from our active databases.
  • This process may take up to 30 days to complete, during which time your account will remain deactivated. If you log back into your account during this period, your deletion request may be cancelled, and your account restored.

However, we cannot guarantee the immediate deletion of your data by all third parties who may have their own retention policies, especially if they are also data controllers for the specific data they hold.

E. Verification

To protect your privacy and security, we may require you to verify your identity before processing your account deletion request.

11. COMPLAINTS

You have the right to make a complaint at any time to the relevant data protection supervisory authority in your jurisdiction. For data subjects within Nigeria, this is the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
