Trippicker terms and conditions
Effective Date: June 25, 2025
Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully before using the Trippicker mobile applications, website, and any related services (collectively, the "Services"). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("you," "User," "Rider," or "Driver" as applicable) and Trippicker ("Trippicker," "we," "us," or "our"), an e-hailing transportation company registered and operating in Nigeria.
By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Services.
Part A: General Terms Applicable to All Users (Riders & Drivers)
1. Agreement to Terms
These Terms form a legally binding contract between you and Trippicker. These Terms govern your use of the Trippicker platform, which facilitates the provision of transportation services between independent third-party drivers ("Drivers") and individuals seeking transportation services ("Riders").
2. The Trippicker Services
Trippicker provides a technology platform that enables Riders to request and schedule transportation services with Drivers, and enables Drivers to accept and provide such services. Trippicker does not provide transportation services itself, nor does it function as a transportation carrier. All transportation services are provided by independent third-party Drivers, who are not employees, agents, or affiliates of Trippicker.
3. Eligibility
To use the Services, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
- Reside in Nigeria or a region where Trippicker operates.
- Have a valid mobile phone number and email address.
- Agree to abide by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
4. Account Registration
- To use most aspects of the Services, you must register for and maintain an active personal user account ("Account").
- You must provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information during the registration process and maintain the accuracy of such information.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your Account, and you agree to maintain the security and secrecy of your Account username and password at all times.
- You may not assign or otherwise transfer your Account to any other person or entity.
- You agree to notify Trippicker immediately of any unauthorized use of your Account.
- Trippicker reserves the right to suspend or terminate your Account if any information provided is found to be inaccurate, untrue, or incomplete.
5. User Conduct and Obligations
a. Lawful Use: You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of, or restrict or inhibit the use and enjoyment of the Services by, any third party.
b. Prohibited Conduct: You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:
- Impersonating any person or entity or falsely stating or otherwise misrepresenting your affiliation with a person or entity.
- Harassing, abusing, or harming another person or group, including Trippicker employees, Drivers, or Riders.
- Collecting or harvesting any personally identifiable information from the Services, except as permitted by these Terms.
- Using the Services for any commercial purpose not expressly approved by Trippicker.
- Interfering with or disrupting the integrity or performance of the Services or the data contained therein.
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to the Services or its related systems or networks.
- Uploading or transmitting viruses, worms, or any other type of malicious code that will or may be used in any way that will affect the functionality or operation of the Services.
- Causing any nuisance, annoyance, inconvenience, or property damage, whether to the Driver, the Rider, or any other third party.
c. Compliance with Laws: You agree to comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and ordinances while using the Services.
d. Account Deletion: For information on how to delete your Trippicker account and the associated personal data, please refer to the Account Deletion section of our Privacy Policy.
6. Payments and Fees
- You understand that use of the Services may result in charges to you for the services or goods you receive from a Driver ("Charges").
- All Charges will be displayed to you prior to confirming a trip (for Riders) or accepting a trip (for Drivers), and you are responsible for reviewing and accepting these Charges.
- Charges may include fares, tolls, surcharges, and other applicable fees.
- Payment processing services are provided by third-party payment processors. Trippicker is not responsible for the processing of your payments.
- All payments are non-refundable unless otherwise determined by Trippicker's refund policy.
7. Intellectual Property
- All intellectual property rights in the Services, including but not limited to copyrights, trademarks, service marks, and trade names, are owned by or licensed to Trippicker.
- You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Services for your personal and non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.
- You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, transmit, broadcast, display, sell, license, or otherwise exploit any content on the Services for any other purpose without the prior written consent of Trippicker.
8. Disclaimers; Limitation of Liability; Indemnity
a. Disclaimer: THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TRIPPICKER DISCLAIMS ALL REPRESENTATIONS AND WARRANTIES, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, NOT EXPRESSLY SET OUT IN THESE TERMS, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. IN ADDITION, TRIPPICKER MAKES NO REPRESENTATION, WARRANTY, OR GUARANTEE REGARDING THE RELIABILITY, TIMELINESS, QUALITY, SUITABILITY, OR AVAILABILITY OF THE SERVICES OR ANY SERVICES OR GOODS REQUESTED THROUGH THE USE OF THE SERVICES, OR THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE. TRIPPICKER DOES NOT GUARANTEE THE QUALITY, SUITABILITY, SAFETY, OR ABILITY OF THIRD-PARTY DRIVERS.
b. Limitation of Liability: TRIPPICKER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, PERSONAL INJURY, OR PROPERTY DAMAGE RELATED TO, IN CONNECTION WITH, OR OTHERWISE RESULTING FROM ANY USE OF THE SERVICES, EVEN IF TRIPPICKER HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. TRIPPICKER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES, LIABILITY, OR LOSSES ARISING OUT OF: (i) YOUR USE OF OR RELIANCE ON THE SERVICES OR YOUR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE THE SERVICES; OR (ii) ANY TRANSACTION OR RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN YOU AND ANY THIRD-PARTY DRIVER, EVEN IF TRIPPICKER HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. TRIPPICKER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR DELAY OR FAILURE IN PERFORMANCE RESULTING FROM CAUSES BEYOND TRIPPICKER'S REASONABLE CONTROL.
c. Indemnity: You agree to indemnify and hold Trippicker and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents harmless from any and all claims, demands, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including attorneys' fees), arising out of or in connection with: (i) your use of the Services or services obtained through your use of the Services; (ii) your breach or violation of any of these Terms; (iii) Trippicker's use of your User Content; or (iv) your violation of the rights of any third party, including Third Party Providers.
9. Modifications to Terms
Trippicker reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated Terms on our website and/or through the app, or by sending you an email. Your continued use of the Services after such notification constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
- These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
- Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the breach, termination, or validity thereof shall be settled by negotiation between the parties in good faith.
- If a dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation within thirty (30) days, the parties agree to submit the dispute to mediation administered by a recognized mediation center in Lagos, Nigeria.
- If mediation fails, the dispute shall be finally resolved by arbitration in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, Cap A18, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004, or any statutory re-enactment or modification thereof. The seat of the arbitration shall be Lagos, Nigeria. The language of the arbitration shall be English. The number of arbitrators shall be one (1).
11. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the validity, legality, and enforceability of the remaining provisions shall not in any way be affected or impaired thereby.
12. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Trippicker regarding the use of the Services.

PART B: TERMS SPECIFIC TO RIDERS (USERS)
1. Requesting and Cancelling Trips
- Requesting a Trip: You can request a trip through the Trippicker app by entering your pickup and destination locations.
- Trip Confirmation: Once a Driver accepts your request, the app will display the Driver's details (name, photo, vehicle type, license plate number) and estimated time of arrival.
- Cancellations: You may cancel a trip request at any time before the Driver arrives at your pickup location. However, a cancellation fee may apply if you cancel after a certain period or if the Driver is already en route, as specified in the app or our cancellation policy.
- Driver Cancellation: Drivers may cancel a trip request for various reasons, including but not limited to your failure to be at the pickup location, safety concerns, or unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, Trippicker may facilitate finding another Driver.
2. Rider Obligations
- Punctuality: Be ready at the designated pickup location at the time of your booking.
- Safety: Ensure safe conduct during the trip. Do not distract the Driver or engage in behavior that could compromise safety.
- Respect: Treat Drivers and their vehicles with respect. Any damage caused to the Driver's vehicle due to your negligence or intentional act may result in you being liable for repair costs.
- Compliance with Driver Instructions: Follow reasonable instructions from the Driver regarding the trip.
- No Unlawful Items: Do not transport any illegal or dangerous goods, substances, or materials.
- No More Passengers than Legal Capacity: Do not request or allow more passengers in the vehicle than its legal carrying capacity.
- Children: Children must be accompanied by an adult. Ensure children are properly secured according to local laws (e.g., in appropriate car seats if required). Trippicker does not guarantee the availability of child seats.
3. Ratings and Feedback
- You will have the opportunity to rate your Driver and provide feedback after each trip.
- Your ratings and feedback are important for maintaining the quality and safety of the Trippicker platform. Please provide honest and constructive feedback.
- Abusive, discriminatory, or false feedback is prohibited and may lead to account suspension.
4. Lost and Found
Trippicker is not responsible for any items left in a Driver's vehicle. However, we will endeavor to assist you in contacting the Driver if you report a lost item. Trippicker does not guarantee the recovery of lost items.
PART C: TERMS SPECIFIC TO DRIVERS
1. DRIVER APPLICATION AND ONBOARDING
a. Eligibility: To be a Driver, you must meet Trippicker's eligibility criteria, which include but are not limited to:
- Holding a valid Nigerian driver's license for the class of vehicle you intend to operate.
- Possessing a valid and insured vehicle that meets Trippicker's and regulatory standards.
- Passing background checks, including criminal record checks (where legally permissible and relevant) and driving history checks.
- Passing any required vehicle inspections.
- Having the legal right to work in Nigeria.
b. Documentation: You must provide all required documentation, including but not limited to your driver's license, vehicle registration, insurance, and proof of identity (e.g., NIN, BVN). You agree to keep all documentation updated and valid.
c. Training: You may be required to complete certain training modules provided or mandated by Trippicker.
2. PROVISION OF TRANSPORTATION SERVICES
a. Independent Contractor Status: You acknowledge and agree that you are an independent contractor and not an employee, agent, joint venturer, or partner of Trippicker. You will provide transportation services using your own vehicle and equipment, and you are solely responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and other related expenses.
b. Service Standards: You agree to provide transportation services in a professional, safe, and courteous manner, in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations, and Trippicker's service standards.
c. Route Choice: You determine the route to a destination. However, you agree to consider the Rider's preferences and use the most efficient and reasonable route.
d. Vehicle Maintenance: You are solely responsible for the maintenance, safety, and roadworthiness of your vehicle.
e. Insurance: You must maintain valid motor vehicle liability insurance and any other insurance required by law for commercial passenger transportation in Nigeria, at your own expense. You agree to provide proof of insurance to Trippicker upon request.
f. Acceptance/Rejection of Trips: You have the right to accept or reject trip requests presented to you through the app.
g. No Discrimination: You agree not to discriminate against any Rider on the basis of race, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, gender, marital status, or any other protected characteristic.
h. Cancellation: You may cancel a trip under reasonable circumstances (e.g., Rider not present at pickup, safety concerns). Excessive or unjustified cancellations may impact your ability to use the platform.
3. DRIVER EARNINGS AND PAYOUTS
a. Fares: You will earn a fare for each completed trip as determined by Trippicker's fare structure, which may include a base fare, per-kilometer/per-minute charges, and applicable surcharges.
b. Trippicker Service Fee: Trippicker will charge a service fee or commission on each fare earned by you, which will be deducted from your earnings. The current service fee percentage will be communicated to you and may be updated from time to time.
c. Payouts: Your earnings, less Trippicker's service fee and any other applicable deductions (e.g., taxes, penalties), will be disbursed to your designated bank account according to Trippicker's payout schedule (e.g., weekly).
d. Taxes: You are solely responsible for all taxes, duties, and levies applicable to your earnings from providing transportation services.
e. In-App Wallet: Trippicker may provide an in-app wallet feature for managing your earnings and expenses.
4. DRIVER CONDUCT AND RATING
a. Professionalism: Maintain a high level of professionalism, including personal hygiene, appropriate attire, and courteous communication.
b. Zero Tolerance Policy: Trippicker maintains a zero-tolerance policy for drug or alcohol use while driving, and for any form of harassment, violence, or discrimination. Violation of this policy will result in immediate and permanent termination of your Account.
c. Ratings: Riders will rate you and provide feedback. Consistent low ratings or significant negative feedback may lead to review, suspension, or termination of your Account.
d. In-App Communication: Use the in-app communication features responsibly. Do not share your personal contact details with Riders outside the app.
5. ACCOUNT SUSPENSION AND TERMINATION (FOR DRIVERS)
- You breach any provision of these Terms.
- Your driving license, vehicle registration, or insurance becomes invalid or expires.
- You fail to meet Trippicker's eligibility or performance standards.
- We receive multiple or severe complaints regarding your conduct or service quality.
- You engage in fraudulent or illegal activities.
- For safety or security reasons as determined by Trippicker.
6. INDEMNITY (SPECIFIC TO DRIVERS)
You agree to indemnify and hold Trippicker and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents harmless from any and all claims, demands, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including attorneys' fees), arising out of or in connection with: (i) your provision of transportation services; (ii) your breach or violation of any applicable laws or regulations; (iii) your negligent or willful misconduct; or (iv) your failure to maintain valid insurance or permits.
